Dennis R. Wraase
Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, PHI
Dennis R. Wraase is Chairman of the Board, and Chief Executive Officer of Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI), a regional energy holding company that provides utility service to about 1.9 million customers. PHI is the parent company of Potomac Electric Power Company, an electric utility serving Washington, D.C. and suburban Maryland; Delmarva Power, an electric and gas utility serving Delaware and the rest of the Delmarva Peninsula; and Atlantic City Electric, an electric utility serving southern New Jersey. Delmarva Power and Atlantic City Electric previously operated under the brand name Conectiv Power Delivery.
Mr. Wraase joined Potomac Electric Power Company in 1974 and was elected Vice President and Comptroller in 1985. He was named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in April 1996, Executive Vice President and CFO in 1999, President in 2000, CEO in 2003, and Chairman of the Board in 2004. He has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1998.
Prior to joining Potomac Electric Power Company, Mr. Wraase worked for Exxon Corporation where he held various financial positions in the Controller's organization.
Mr. Wraase was born in Washington , D.C. He graduated from the University of Maryland receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He also holds a master of science in finance from the George Washington University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Wraase is an Executive Board Member of the National Capital Area Council Boy Scouts of America. He is a member and serves on the Board of Directors of the Federal City Council, Edison Electric Institute, Southeastern Electric Exchange, Association of Edison Illuminating Companies, Washington Performing Arts Society, U. S. Chamber of Commerce, The University of Maryland Foundation, Economic Club of Washington, Maryland Business Roundtable for Education and the Washington Hospital Center . Mr. Wraase is a member of the Financial Executives Institute and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Wraase is also a member of the Congressional Country Club and the Metropolitan Club.
