Intelligent Utility Magazine Selects Charles Dickerson as a Top Mover & Shaker

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Intelligent Utility Magazine selected Charles Dickerson, Pepco Holdings, Inc., Vice President of Customer Care, as one of their “Top 11 Movers and Shakers” in their January/February 2011 issue (http://www.nxtbook.com/nxtbooks/energycentral/iu_20110102/#/12). As a “Top Mover & Shaker,” Mr. Dickerson is part of a select group of utility leaders viewed as having a vision clearer than most in the industry. Dickerson was selected because of his concentration on customer education, particularly around the smart grid.

“I’m focused on helping change customers’ behavior," says Dickerson. “Though the technology is an important part of the equation, customers won’t see benefits without a change in the way they consume energy; and utilities will find it difficult helping their customers unless they focus more on customer perceived value.”

Dickerson has been with Pepco Holdings, Inc. (PHI) for 21 years. For the last three, he has been the Vice President of Customer Care, responsible for the departments that control the customer experience, for PHI’s 1.9 million customers. These include meter reading, billing services, marketing and customer contact centers to name a few. Through his tenure at PHI, Dickerson has received industry recognition and awards for his work with Pepco’s customer operations functions.

Intelligent Utility Magazine is a publication that connects professionals in the global power industry to news, events, databases, insight and analysis. Based in Aurora, Colorado, they were established in 1996.
