Pepco Holdings Donates $50,000 to Red Cross Katrina Relief Fund

Pepco Holdings, Inc, (NYSE-POM) today joined concerned organizations and individuals in supporting the relief effort to aid the Gulf Coast regionin its recovery from the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina. PHI said it would donate $50,000 to the American Red Cross.

"Restoration in the wake of such disasters is a community event, and today our community has expanded to include our neighbors to the south," said Dennis R. Wraase, PHI Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "PHI is pleased to support the Red Cross in its effort to help families and individuals resume their normal lives. In addition to this donation, we have sent crews, trucks and other equipment to help restore power to the region."

PHI''s leadership is calling on employees to contribute as well. "The employees of Pepco, Atlantic City Electric and Delmarva have a long tradition of coming to the aid of those in need,"said Wraase, who encouraged employees "to contribute through your local Red Cross chapter or to one of the many reputable organizations participating in this effort."
