    Golf Tournaments Raise $433,000

    Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power and Pepco organize annual golf tournaments under the PHI Community Foundation fundraising umbrella. In 2013, these events raised $433,000, which was distributed to charities in each utility's service territory.

    The Annual Atlantic City Electric Fall Charity Golf Classic, held at the Galloway National Golf Club in Galloway Township, N.J., raised $123,000. Beneficiaries included:


    Val Skinner Foundation                      $41,000

    Big Brothers Big Sisters                      $41,000

    Casa for Children                               $41,000

    Delmarva Power’s Annual Scholarship Golf Classic, held at Cavaliers Country Club in Newark, Del., raised $65,000. Beneficiaries included:

    Del.-Md.-Va. Council, Boy Scouts of America          $10,000

    Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay Council              $10,000

    Brenda E. Benson-Atkins Scholarship                       $10,000

    Delaware State University                                        $15,000

    University of Maryland, Eastern Shore                     $15,000

    Leadership Delaware                                                $5,000

    The Pepco Annual Golf and Tennis Classic raised $255,000. The company split the funds in three ways and donated $85,000 to each of the following organizations, which used the money to help low-income families pay their winter heating bills:
