As part of a coastal marsh enhancement project, Delmarva Power was responsible for ongoing monitoring and maintenance of the James Farm Ecological Preserve in Ocean View, Del. The project's main goal was to enhance the site's habitat value by turning historically mosquito ditched tidal marshland into a more natural coastal wetland habitat. Monitoring of the site continued through 2013. Moving forward, the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays will assume long-term stewardship of the marsh as part of its management responsibilities at the James Farm Preserve.

Today, the preserve is a rich and productive habitat for fiddler crabs, ribbed mussels and salt-marsh dependent species, such as mummichog, striped killifish and sheepshead minnows. The habitat has provided increased feeding opportunities for numerous wading birds, shorebirds and seabirds.
